KGL Logistics Offers Customers Enhanced Warehousing and Distribution Facilities with Manhattan Associates

Kuwait-based Logistics Services Provider Deploys Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management Solution to Improve Customer Service and Fuel Growth into New Markets

LONDON and ATLANTA (January 08, 2007) –

Leading supply chain solutions provider, Manhattan Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH), today announced that KGL Logistics, the international logistics provider, has gone live with Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management solution, built on Microsoft .NET. The system manages customer goods in over 500,000m2 of warehousing and distribution space in Kuwait. It has been implemented by Manhattan Associates’ partner Logistixware and integrates with KGL Logistics’ Oracle ERP system as well as Caterpillar and Bendy materials handling equipment (MHE) and LXE radio-frequency (RF) technology.

In addition to a complete third party logistics service spanning warehousing and distribution, KGL Logistics also provides ocean, air and land freight forwarding services for commercial, government and military customers as well as a stevedoring service. The warehousing facilities in Kuwait consist of the Mina Abdullah site totalling 500,000m2 and the Shuwaikh centre covering 13,000m2. Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management solution fully automates the processes of receiving goods, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing and shipping for all stock that passes through the centres from foodstuff and furniture to electronics and cosmetics.

KGL Logistics aims to be the number one regional logistics player within two years. Its immediate targets for expansion are Qatar, UAE and Egypt. In order to meet its growth plans, KGL Logistics sought a technology partner that could offer a robust and scalable logistics supply chain solution. The company’s key objectives were to be able to deliver customised solutions, raise industry standards, improve customer satisfaction and enhance the company’s growth and profitability.

From a shortlist of four companies offering warehouse management solutions, KGL Logistics chose Manhattan Associates as the solution that most closely met these requirements.

“The Warehouse Management solution has already had a significant effect on our efficiency, as goods are now immediately visible in the system”, says Dany Harfouche, chief operating officer at KGL Logistics Kuwait. “Accurate data capture and computer directed put-away means that goods are always placed in the correct location in the warehouse. We now have immediate inventory status updates and have reduced the occurrence of stock-outs. The solution also provides enhanced visibility for our clients who can access stock status through the internet. As our requirements develop we envisage adding Manhattan Associates’ Demand Forecasting and Replenishment solutions to provide even more value to the customers we serve through our third party logistics facilities.”

“KGL Logistics has ambitious growth plans and this implementation will help in their local market of Kuwait and as they venture into new territories,” says Steve Smith, vice president of EMEA, Manhattan Associates. “KGL Logistics customers will be able to view consolidated stock status information at numerous warehouses and in disparate locations, helping them to make strategic purchasing decisions and to reallocate slow and non-moving stock from one country to another.”
