Happen launches ERP for managed services providers

Managed services edition set to target increasingly popular market, the software vendor claims

N/A (October 01, 2009) – Software vendor, Happen Business, has launched a special edition of its Jim2 enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to target managed solution providers.
While there are other ERP solutions on the market, Happen managing director, Paul Berger, said its solution focused on an area rarely covered by major vendors.
“Our solution is different to most in that it’s a back-end solution. It doesn’t replace the likes of Kaseya [managed services software vendor],” Berger said. “Kaseya is very good for handling the front-end of managed services, the offering you’re giving your customer, but there’s no accounting, there’s no stock control, there’s no integration with your ERP package.
“We don’t compete against them, we complement those guys.”
Berger’s confidence in the rise in managed services are in line with an IDC report released in August that said the Australian IT services industry would grow by 4 per cent over the next five years.
“Over the last couple of years, the whole managed services thing has started to become a pretty hot button,” Berger said. “We have had a lot of customers move into that area and basically we saw it as an opportunity to make our software handle that type of thing.”
